Imperial Valley Food Bank Distribution

First Presbyterian Church of Brawley hosts an Imperial Valley Food Bank Distribution for 240 families. To be involved with this outreach program, please contact Pastor Juliana at 210-519-9055. The distribution is held on the fourth Saturday of every month.

Feed the Need

Brawley Feed the Need is a non-profit that aids the homeless and food-insecure residents of Imperial County’s north end, providing two daily meals—hot breakfast and a sack lunch—five days a week. FPC Brawley supports this initiative with monthly donations and sponsors a lunch each month. Please call 760-344-2725 if you are interested in helping with Feed The Need.

Op Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child, a Samaritan’s Purse outreach, partners with local churches to deliver Christmas shoe boxes filled with gifts to underprivileged children globally. Congregants fill boxes with toys, hygiene items, and other approved goods, labeling them by age and gender. The boxes are collected in El Centro, CA, and distributed worldwide. Recently, children in the Philippines received gifts from our church. Please call 760-344-2725 if you are interested in helping with Operation Christmas Child.

Annual Christmas Baskets

Working closely with Brawley Elementary School District, our in-house coordinator identifies families in need during the holidays. Details about the children’s ages and sizes are shared with members who then “adopt” these families. Each adopted family receives a ham, a food basket filled with supplies (enough to fill two large laundry baskets), and a gift for each child. Donors personally deliver these baskets to the families in the weeks leading up to Christmas, ensuring they have a festive and joyful holiday.

Since 2012, First Presbyterian Church – Brawley has supported two missionaries with a monthly stipend. Andrew and Melody Campbell visited our congregation while on a fund-raising trip to the US at the invitation of our then-pastor. From that time onward, we have played a small role supporting their work in Papua New Guinea.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) aims to integrate faith into high school and middle school athletics, providing coaches and players opportunities to explore and share their Christian beliefs. While its influence had diminished locally, recent enthusiasm has revived FCA activities in Imperial County. FPC Brawly now supports this resurgence by hosting breakfasts for football teams since 2022 and addressing their specific needs. Teen leaders from our congregation are actively involved, especially at Brawley High School, with plans to expand to middle school teams. Countywide, over 1,300 students participate in weekly “huddles” sharing testimonies and encouraging each other in faith. FCA serves as a bridge helping student athletes to know Jesus.
